چکیده

The memory constrained nature of mobile devices, such as smartphones, limits the amount of data that can be stored locally. As a result, mobile devices often rely on cellular connections to retrieve application data. Environmental factors, however, can partially or completely restrict cellular connectivity. Autonomic distributed caching mechanisms can be used to allow mobile device networks to selfheal by storing data needed across multiple devices, but cannot be applied without a means to determine if devices are within a given range. Moreover, it is hard to identify the best way(s) of mapping application data to device memory to allow devices to self-heal in spite of limited cellular

Secure Communication in Shotgun Cellular Systems

In this paper, we analyze the secure connectivity in Shotgun cellular systems (SCS: Wireless communication systems with randomly placed base stations) by Poisson intrinsically secure communication graph (IS-graph), i.e., a random graph which describes the connections that are secure over a network. For a base-station in SCS, a degree of secure connections is determined over two channel models: ...

Alterations in Hippocampal Functional Connectivity in patients with Mesial Temporal Sclerosis

Introduction: Medial temporal sclerosis (MTS) is a form of mesial temporal lobe epilepsy (mTLE). It is typically characterized by structural alterations in hippocampus (HC) and related mesial temporal lobe (MTL) network. Resting state functional connectivity (RSFC) is considered an ideal technique in quantifying the dysfunction and maladaptation in MTL network. It is well- dem...

Dt - Mri Connectivity and / or Tractography ? : Two New Algorithms

The goal of this manuscript is to give a brief review of DT-MRI analysis and pose the question of whether it is the connectivity or the tractography approach that we should focus on. We state the advantages and the disadvantages of these two approaches and review two new methods recently proposed for DT-MRI analysis, namely, the SMT (Split & Merge Tractography) and LoS (Lattice of Springs Model...

Combining Structural Connectivity and Response Latencies to Model the Structure of the Visual System

Several approaches exist to ascertain the connectivity of the brain, and these approaches lead to markedly different topologies, often incompatible with each other. Specifically, recent single-cell recording results seem incompatible with current structural connectivity models. We present a novel method that combines anatomical and temporal constraints to generate biologically plausible connect...
